Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, born in 1967, is the current governor of Adamawa State, a position he’s held since 2019. His political career began in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, where he rose to become Speaker.
In 2014, his career took a significant turn when he became the acting governor of Adamawa State following the impeachment of the then-governor. Though his tenure as acting governor was brief, lasting only three months, it marked his first incursion into the executive branch.
In 2019, he contested the Adamawa State gubernatorial election under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The initial results showed him winning, but due to a high number of canceled votes, the election was declared inconclusive.

Before her current role, she served as the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University from 2017 to 2022. She’s also held positions as Adamawa State Commissioner of Education and Executive Chairman of Universal Basic Education.
Farauta’s educational journey includes obtaining her primary and secondary education in Adamawa State before pursuing further studies.
She earned her first and second degrees in Agricultural Extension from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1989 and 1995 respectively, and later obtained her PhD from Modibbo Adama Federal University of Technology, Yola.
