Who Is The New Minister Of State For Water Resources And Sanitation In Nigeria?
The new Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation in Nigeria is Bello Muhammad Goronyo Esq. He was born on January 1st, 1966, in Sabon Garin Dole, Goronyo Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
His early education began at Kofar Marke Primary School in Sokoto, now known as Alhaji Alhaji Model Primary School, from 1975 to 1981.
After that, he attended Government College Sokoto (now Nagarta College) from 1981 to 1986, where he completed his secondary school education.
In 1990, he earned a Diploma in Law from the College of Art and Science in Sokoto. Bello Goronyo then pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) at Usman Danfodio University, graduating in 1997.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 after attending the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, Abuja. In addition to his legal background, Bello Goronyo is a well-educated individual with a broad range of qualifications.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Energy Security Management from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, and a Master’s in Business Management and Leadership from the London Graduate School, UK.
Additionally, he has a Master’s in Philosophy in Leadership and Strategic Studies, also from NDA Kaduna. He has vast experience in public service and leadership.
Bello Goronyo was a two-time member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, representing Goronyo Constituency between 2007 and 2015.
During this time, he served as the Minority Leader, Deputy Leader, and Deputy Speaker. Later, he became a Commissioner in the Government of Sokoto State from 2015 to 2018, overseeing ministries like Solid Minerals, Energy Development, and Information.
Bello Goronyo is also an active party member. He has held several positions in the All Progressive Congress (APC), including being the Zonal Secretary for the APC in the North West.
Bello was the Director of National Youth Mobilization in the Asiwaju/Shettima 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council for the North West Zone.
