Who Is The New Minister Of State For Health In Nigeria?
The new Minister of State for Health in Nigeria is Tunji Alausa, who took office on August 21, 2023. His appointment came from President Bola Tinubu, who also appointed Muhammad Ali Pate as the Minister of Health.
Tunji Alausa succeded Ekumankama Joseph Nkama in this role. Tunji Alausa is a qualified medical doctor specializing in nephrology.
He studied medicine and surgery at the University of Lagos and graduated in 1993. After his studies in Nigeria, he went to the United States for further training.
He completed his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and worked from 1997 to 2001. During his time there, he served as the Chief Medical Resident.
After his residency, he became an assistant professor at Rush University Medical School. Later, he specialized in nephrology and hypertension at the Medical College of Wisconsin from July 2002 to June 2004.
He also gained experience during his residency in Internal Medicine at Royal Bolton Hospital and the University of Newcastle from 1995 to 1997.
Now that he’s the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Tunji Alausa will want to improve healthcare services in Nigeria.
