1. Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru
Tokunbo Abiru, born on March 25, 1964, is a Nigerian banker and politician currently serving as the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the 9th Nigerian National Assembly, and he’s a member of the All Progressives Congress.
Abiru graduated with a B.Sc in Economics from Lagos State University and attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and Lagos Business School Senior Management Program.
Abiru resigned from his banking position in August 2020 to contest the Lagos East senatorial election. He was appointed Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking in August 2023.
Before his banking career, Abiru had executive positions at First Bank Nigeria Ltd and served as the Honourable Commissioner of Finance for Lagos State from 2011 to 2013.
He was instrumental in floating an N80 billion bond for Lagos State and initiated discussions on taxation, leading to the discovery of over 5.5 million tax evaders. His efforts also boosted Land Use Charge revenue generation by N6.2bn.
Abiru’s public service is open to various boards, including Airtel Mobile Networks Limited, FBN Capital Limited (now FBN Quest Merchant Bank Limited), and Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS).
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he donated 150,000 face masks to primary schools in his district.
2. Oluranti Idiat Adebule
The current Senator representing Lagos West is Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule. She assumed office on June 13, 2023, succeeding Solomon Adeola.
Born on November 27, 1970, in Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria, Adebule holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in curriculum studies from Lagos State University, where she also completed her undergraduate studies in Islamic Education.
Sen. Adebule served as the Deputy Governor of Lagos State from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2019, under the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. She also worked as a lecturer and contributed to the development of education policies in Lagos State.
Adebule’s political career began with her appointment as Commissioner 1 in the Lagos State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission and later as a board member of the Lagos State Scholarship Board. She served as the Secretary to the State Government before being sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
Adebule is affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), and her tenure in office has seen her focus on issues relevant to her constituency and contribute to legislative matters concerning Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

3. Sanni Wasiu Eshilokun
Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni is the current senator for Lagos State Central, having assumed office on June 13, 2023, succeeding Oluremi Tinubu.
Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, born on March 24, 1961, is a Nigerian politician affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2013.
He previously had political affiliations with the Alliance for Democracy (1998–2006) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (2006–2013). Sanni was the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly from June 8, 2015, to June 4, 2023.
He was also a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly from June 2, 1999, to June 2, 2003, representing Lagos Island I constituency. Educationally, Sanni attended the University of Lagos and later pursued studies at Harvard Law School.
