How Many Presidents Have Ruled Egypt?
Since Egypt became a republic on June 18, 1953, there have been ten presidents. The first president was Mohamed Naguib, who served from 1953 to 1954. After him, Gamal Abdel Nasser became president.
Nasser had a big impact on Egypt, having served two terms, from 1954 until he died in 1970. Then, Anwar Sadat became president, and he served until he was assassinated in 1981.
After Sadat’s death, Sufi Abu Taleb was the acting president for a very short time, just eight days, before Hosni Mubarak took over.
Mubarak was president for almost 30 years, from 1981 until he resigned in 2011 during the Arab Spring protests. When Mubarak resigned, there was a period of military rule. During this time, Mohamed Hussein Tantawi acted as the head of state.
In 2012, Mohamed Morsi was elected as the first democratically chosen president. However, Morsi was ousted from power in 2013. After Morsi, Adly Mansour served as interim president until 2014.

Who Is The Present President Of Egypt?
The current president of Egypt is Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He was recently re-elected for a third term after winning the presidential elections held in December 2023.
In this election, he received an impressive 89.6% of the votes. The voter turnout was about 66.8%, with over 44 million people casting their ballots.
El-Sisi first became president in June 2014 after leading the military’s removal of President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. He was re-elected in 2018, and now his new term will last for six years, until 2030, making him the fifth multi-party presidential election in Egypt’s modern history.
