Who Was The First Minister Of Special Duties And Inter-Governmental Affairs In Nigeria?
Kabiru Tanimu Turaki was the first Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs in Nigeria. Born on April 3, 1957, in Kebbi State, Kabiru is not just a politician; he is also a lawyer.
He studied law at the University of Jos and became a lawyer in 1986. Kabiru has been involved in politics for many years. He was a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and had run for the governor of Kebbi State three times.
Also, he served as the Special Adviser to the President on legal matters. Kabiru was appointed Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs during President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, and he was instrumental in coordinating different government affairs.

The new Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs in Nigeria is Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo. Born on April 3rd, 1970, he is a well-known politician who was elected to represent the Abuja Municipal/Bwari Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja In 2011.
Hon. Jisalo started his education at Garki Primary School in Abuja, earning his First School Leaving Certificate. After that, he attended Government Secondary School in Karu, Abuja, where he obtained his General Certificate of Examination and West African Senior Certificate.
He then went on to the University of Jos in Plateau State, and he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. In addition to his first degree, Hon. Jisalo also completed an Advanced Diploma in Applied Psychology and a Diploma in Criminal Justice and Administration at the University of Jos.
He later attended the Institute of Mass Communication and Technology, and he earned a Diploma in Public Relations. Also, he studied Government Policies, Planning, and Implementation at Thames Valley University in London, UK.
Hon. Jisalo began his career, working with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from 1990 to 2002. His leadership skills shone when he was elected Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in 2004.
He was re-elected for a second term in 2007 and continued to serve until 2010. During his time in the House, he has been part of several important committees, including Sports, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Defense, Customs & Excise, Appropriations, and National Security.
He is affiliated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was re-elected in 2015. Hon. Jisalo’s dedication to public service has earned him several awards.
