1. Eteng Jonah Williams
Eteng Jonah Williams is a Nigerian Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District. He previously served as the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly from June 2019 to June 2023.
Eteng was born on December 30, 1969, in Mkpani, Yakurr Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria, and he’s been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since June 2021.
He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Calabar and has over 25 years of experience in administration before entering politics.
Eteng was elected three times to represent Yakurr II State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, where he chaired various committees and eventually became Speaker during the 9th Assembly.
During his tenure as Speaker, significant legislation was passed, including the Cross River State House of Assembly Service Commission Bill 2020, the Judiciary Funds Management Bill 2021, and the Legislature Funds Management Bill 2021.
In February 2023, Eteng won the Senatorial election for Cross River Central Senatorial District, securing 57,344 votes as the APC candidate.
He defeated his closest rival, former federal lawmaker Honorable Bassey Eko Ewa of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and was sworn in as Senator on June 13, 2023.
Eteng Jonah Williams is also known for his involvement in various organizations, such as the Nigeria America Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and his contributions to projects like the “OAU Abuja 91 Commemorative Handbook” during his time with the Office of the Organization for African Unity (OAU) chairman.
2. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe
Jarigbe Agom represents Cross River North in Nigeria’s Senate, having assumed office on September 15, 2021, succeeding Rose Okoji Oko. Agom is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Earlier, Jarigbe served in the House of Representatives for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency during the 8th and 9th National Assembly sessions. In 2020, he contested the Cross River North Senatorial bye-election, securing victory but faced legal challenges.
However, in 2021, the Supreme Court affirmed his victory, upholding him as the senator-elect. In the 2023 senatorial election, Jarigbe successfully retained his seat under the PDP.
His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Calabar and a law degree from Baze University, obtained in November 2022.

3. Ekpenyong Asuquo
Asuquo Ekpenyong is a Nigerian politician and financial analyst, having previously served as the Commissioner for Finance in Cross River State and is currently representing Cross River South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate.
Ekpenyong is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and holds a degree in Economics from the University of Reading, as well as a master’s degree in International Banking and Financial Services.
Beginning his career as a financial analyst in Lagos, Ekpenyong later became a lecturer at the University of Calabar.
He ventured into entrepreneurship by establishing Iquasu Ventures Limited, a logistics company, and later assumed leadership roles at Chamley Bureau de Change Limited and Pearland Energy.
At the age of 29, Ekpenyong was appointed Commissioner for Finance in Cross River State, making him the youngest commissioner in Nigeria at the time. He was there for several years, setting a record as the longest-serving commissioner for Finance in the state.
In addition, Ekpenyong also briefly served as Commissioner for Transport and Marine Services and has also been actively involved in politics, contesting for the governorship of Cross River State in the 2023 election.
Ekpenyong’s political career reached new heights when he emerged as the winner of the APC senatorial primaries in May 2022, securing 347 out of 351 votes. He was also appointed as the chairman of the Senate committee on NDDC in August 2023.
