1. Tartenger Titus Zam

Tartenger Titus Zam

Titus Zam Tartenger is a Nigerian politician serving as the senator-elect for Benue North-West Senatorial District. He assumed office after winning the senatorial election.

On August 8, 2023, Titus Zam Tartenger was appointed as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Business for the 10th Senate.

This role places him in a position of important responsibility within the Senate, overseeing the formulation and implementation of rules that govern the proceedings and business activities of the Senate.

As a senator, Titus Zam Tartenger plays a part in representing the concerns and aspirations of his constituents. He participates in legislative activities to address various issues affecting the people of Benue State and Nigeria as a whole. Additionally, he engages in discussions and debates on national policies and laws.

2. Udende Memsa Emmanuel

Udende Memsa Emmanuel

Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende currently represents Benue North East Senatorial District (Zone A) in Nigeria. Udende emerged victorious in the February 25, 2023, National Assembly elections, defeating the incumbent senator and former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam.

However, It all began when he was elected to the Federal House of Representatives in 2011, representing the Ukum/Katsina-Ala/Logo Federal Constituency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He was re-elected in 2015 but later switched allegiance to the APC in 2016, citing leadership crises within the PDP. Although he failed to secure re-election in 2019, Udende persisted and won the nomination of his party for the Benue North East senatorial seat in 2022.

During the primary election, Udende gained significant support, polling 211,887 votes to defeat his major opponent, Chief Terlumun Akputu, who scored 84,304 votes.

In the succeeding general election held on February 25, 2023, Udende secured victory once again, polling 141,405 votes against Suswam’s 107,303 votes.

3. Abba Patrick Moro

Abba Patrick Moro

Abba Patrick Moro is currently the Senator representing Benue North-East Senatorial District in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He assumed office on June 11, 2019, succeeding David Mark, a notable figure in Nigerian politics. Moro is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Born on July 3, 1956, in Okpokwu, Benue State, Nigeria, Moro has a background in education and politics. He attended different educational institutions, including the University of Lagos, where he obtained both a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration.

In 1998, he was elected Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Council. He later contested as the PDP candidate for the Benue State governorship election in April 2007 but was unsuccessful.

In July 2011, Moro was appointed as the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Interior by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

During his tenure as Minister, Moro faced legal challenges related to a recruitment drive that resulted in fatal stampedes in 2014.

He has pleaded not guilty to allegations of fraud involving missing application fees amounting to $2.5 million and has been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the immigration recruitment scam.

In addition to his political career, Moro has also held academic positions, serving as a lecturer at Benue State Polytechnic and holding various administrative roles within the institution.
